Herbalism and Chinese Medicine are forms of Holistic Medicine.

Holistic medicine is an approach to healing and health that takes into consideration the whole person: body, mind, spirit, emotions, diet, lifestyle and exercise.

Holistic medicine sees that our bodies are not machines with different mechanisms running independently of each other, but as one single entity where no part is left behind.

Holistic medicine uses both alternative and conventional therapies, seeing that there is a value, time and place for different forms of medicines and therapies.

What is Herbal Medicine?

Herbal medicine is an ancient form of healing, and was the primary source of medicine up until the early 20th Century in the United States and Europe. Even today, it is still the predominant form of medicine in other countries of the world.

Herbal medicine primarily uses plants, but in some traditions and cultures minerals, rocks, gems, animals, and insects are also used for their therapeutic actions.

Herbal medicine is holistic in its approach to health.

Herbal medicine is gentler than pharmacological medicine, offering few side effects.

Herbal medicine is safe and effective when used under the guidance of a trained practitioner.

Herbal medicine is increasingly validated by scientific investigations and trials.

Many modern pharmaceuticals have been derived from, or modeled on, the chemical constituents of plants such as: digoxin derived from foxglove (Digitalis purpurea) or asprin derived from salicyclic acid within meadowsweet (Spirea ulmaria) and willow (Salix alba).

What is Chinese Medicine?

For me, Chinese Medicine was the “answer” I was looking for when it came to my health and approach to life.

Chinese Medicine is an approach to healing and health that is thousands of years old.

The system that I focus on is based upon the idea that we have five elements contained within our bodies, which also contain yin and yang (or water and fire, coolness and heat, dark and light, etc.).  These elements are: Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal.

Chinese Medicine is holistic and addresses all aspects of the person: body, mind, spirit, emotions, diet, lifestyle and exercise, and strives to create a sense of ease (of body-mind-spirit) through which the person navigates their life.

Chinese Medicine describes the interplay of nature and ourselves, like how the weather affect our bodies and emotions, and provides solutions to create more ease and balance between us and the world around us.

Chinese Medicine is valuable in working with acute conditions (colds, flus, bumps, bruises), chronic conditions (headaches, menstrual irregularities, Lyme disease), emotional conditions (depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc.) and can help you improve your overall health or even lose weight.

Chinese Medicine may even help a person manifest their destiny in this lifetime!
